Meet and Greet TWO Best-Selling Authors
Vacationing bookworms rejoice, because Quarter Moon Books & Gifts located at 708 S. Anderson Blvd in Topsail Beach has two coming in to visit this June!

On Saturday, June 2, best-selling author Susan M. Boyer will be at Quarter Moon Books from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
From the author’s website: Susan M. Boyer is the author of the USA TODAY bestselling Liz Talbot mystery series. Her debut novel, Lowcountry Boil, won the 2012 Agatha Award for Best First Novel, the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense, and garnered several other award nominations, including the Macavity.
Susan’s short fiction has appeared in moonShine Review, Spinetingler Magazine, and Relief Journal, among others. She is the recipient of Relief Journal’s editor’s choice award in fiction and has been recognized by the Carrie McCrary Memorial Literary Awards program.
She served on the board of directors for South Carolina Writers’ Workshop 2006 – 2009, and was chairperson for the organization’s annual conference 2007 – 2008.

On Sunday, June
17th, Mary Alice Monroe will be at the store from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
for an author event benefiting Topsail Friends of the Library as well as the
Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.

TWO Kid's Fishing Competitions
Event #1: On Saturday, June 16, East Coast Sports will host their annual free Kid's Fishing Tournament in Surf City.
Pre-registration for this tournament can be done in person at East Coast Sports, located at 409 Roland Avenue in Surf City, NC from June 11th through 15th. Same day tournament registration will be available from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Pre-registration for this event is required. This
event is open for kids aged 0-16. Pre-registration runs from June 1 through
June 30 at 6:00 p.m., or from June 1 until the date the tournament participation
maximum of 300 kids has been reached,
whichever comes first.

Surf City Evening Beach Yoga
Tuesday nights from 8:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Roland Beach Access (102 N. Shore Drive, Surf City). Begins May 15.
Wednesday nights from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Soundside Park (517 Roland Ave, Surf City). June, July, and August.

- $5 for facility pass holders / $10 for visitors.
- No cash accepted! Pre-paid punch cards and credit cards will be processed on site.
- Mats and/or beach towels are recommended.
- Classes are weather dependent.

2018 Summer Aquarium Program
The Historical Society of Topsail Island, in conjunction with the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, is offering an educational outreach program over the course of 6 weeks this summer. These interactive programs are designed for families with school-aged children.
This program will occur on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Assembly Building, located at 720 Channel Blvd., Topsail Beach, NC 28445. A donation of $1.00 per child is requested in order to help offset the cost, which in turn supports the Historical Society in their efforts to host these types of exciting programs.

Movies and Music in Soundside Park
Soundside Park in Surf City (517 Roland Avenue) is a one-location stop for a summer full of free, family-friendly fun. Bring your chairs or blankets, food and drinks, and join the community for these FREE events.
- Alcohol is prohibited in Soundside Park.
- Events may be weather dependent.
- Music performances start promptly at their designated time.
- Movie events begin at 7:00 p.m. with pre-movie activities and food vendors.
